However, vegetable juice that contains mostly carrots has too much sugar.
Corn, squash, carrots, and potatoes are higher in sugar content and need to be considered as part of the carbohydrate total of any meal. It is a shame that French fries, potato chips, and corn chips are the mainstay vegetables of the American junk-food diet. Eat these foods in their real forms as part of a real meal. Minimize or avoid them in their junk-food forms.
Carbohydrates from grains should be eaten in as wholesome a form as possible. |

Americans generally consume too many omega-6 fatty acids, which are found mainly in vegetable oils. Evidence suggests that the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids should be no greater than 4:1, and 3:1 is even better. Most Americans have an omega-6 to omega-3 profile of 10:1 or greater. Evidence suggests that an imbalance of this type may increase the level of inflammation in the body and increase the risk of heart disease, arthritis, and certain types of cancer, including prostate cancer. |

Upon achieving that goal, and given that no other MSG-containing ingredients are used to replace yeast extract (such as torula yeast, autolyzed or hydrolyzed vegetable proteins), Amy's Kitchen will receive our full endorsement for safe, healthful and tasty organic frozen foods.
Our present view of Amy's Kitchen is that the company is making some of the highest quality organic frozen foods on the market today and is clearly a superior food company with a desire to meet the stringent quality demands of informed consumers. |

If you significantly increase your vegetable and fruit intake, and reduce your fat intake to a very modest level, portion control over other foods will be relatively simple. In addition, consuming PGX before, during, or after meals is another strategy to bring about satiety while decreasing portion sizes. Five grams of PGX will hold about one liter of water as it passes through the stomach and small intestine. |

They were put on a diet that was zero in animal fat and low in vegetable oils. A control group was on a cholesterol-lowering diet. The vegetarian group lost about a pound per week, and the control group lost about 8 pounds in total per person.44 The study group's body cells became more and more sensitive to insulin; at fourteen weeks their insulin sensitivity had improved by 24 percent. From these results he theorized that a low-fat diet activated the natural ability to open the insulin receptors in the cells to allow glucose into the system. |
In essence, from the perspective of health and diabetes in particular, animal flesh sourced protein—fish included—is inferior to vegetable protein as a quality protein source. This undisputed scientific fact is confirmed by the China Study by T Colin Campbell and the epidemiological evidence of 6,500 Chinese across 65 provinces. A meat-based protein is a poorer quality protein source than a plant-based protein, as evidenced by cancer data from that study showing that the more animal protein was consumed, the higher the rates of cancer. |

As it turns out, Amy's vegetable Pie pocket sandwich is also made with yeast extract. Yep, you heard me correctly. Yeast extract. It's right on the label, right after "spices" and right before "turmeric." And as I write this, I have a screaming headache that was caused by it, and which will last probably for another six hours.
I made the mistake, you see, of trusting Amy's Kitchen products to contain no yeast extract. So I did something stupid: I ate a food product without reading the label. And I got nailed by an ingredient that I thought Amy's Kitchen never used. |

Wolfe: I just call it the best food ever.
Mike: Right on.
Wolfe: That's what I say when people ask what I'm into. I tell them that I'm into the best food ever. They say, "Well, that's too much for me. I can't do it now." It only takes a step at a time to do this, and there's so much nutrition in this. |

We turn them into omnivores by giving them grains and vegetable in their diet. Now, they will choose to chew on grass and pull up and chew on certain vegetables. They are carnivores by designation, so when you put them on a vegetarian diet, you create a lot of problems and create symptoms you're actually trying to reverse. The only time a vegetarian diet is good for a dog or cat is as an interim diet. If they are having allergic reaction, then get them on as simple a diet as possible, and then reintroduce the meats to see which one they are reacting to. |

For dogs, vegetable protein does not contain all the amino acids that are required; therefore, a correct formulation of grains and other ingredients must be made if you plan on feeding your dog a vegetarian diet.
Indigestible proteins, such as those used in some commercial per foods (hair, feathers, fecal matter), obviously cannot sustain an animal. Meat, fish, eggs (a complete source of protein), and dairy products provide many, if not all, the amino acids that your pet requires. |

The primary difference between the Super Greens and the Super Berry is that one has vegetable greens and the other has berries. So they are slightly different. The Super Berry is sweetened with tagatose, as well as xylitol, fructooligosaccharides, and a little stevia. In the Super Greens, we have mannitol, xylitol, fructooligosaccharides, and a little stevia. These are' the basic differences.

What about the price?
This highly-concentrated aloe vera gel isn't cheap. Not by the ounce, at least. But that's because all the water has been taken out. If you rehydrate it, you'll find that it's actually competitive with the liquid aloe vera products commonly sold in health food stores. |

Now let's consider the FDA's CAM Guidelines in which the agency states it could regulate vegetable juice as a drug as long as the juice is sold with the intent to improve health. The document specifically mentions massage oils and herbs as being subject to regulation, too. If this becomes adopted as the primary regulatory philosophy by the agency, the application of this thinking will inevitably expand.
Today, the FDA says it won't be attacking natural health clinics, breaking down doors with armed agents and arresting the healers inside. |
REPPED: If you've been following the debate over the FDA's new CAM Guidelines (click here for latest update) that threaten to destroy natural medicine by regulating herbs, supplements and even vegetable juices as "unapproved drugs," you've no doubt heard the opposing opinion by some natural health commentators who claim the guidelines say nothing new. Some are even saying the CAM Guidelines are a "non issue" and represent "no big deal."
As much as I appreciate the efforts and comments of others in the natural health world, I strongly disagree with their assessment on the CAM Guidelines. |
Why would they spell out the example of regulating vegetable juice if they didn't plan to someday enforce such regulatory ideas? The FDA has already proven it is the enemy of health freedom. It is entirely consistent with the agency's past behavior to believe it will continue to march towards banning, censoring or regulating out of existence any substance that competes with pharmaceutical profits.
The CAM Guidelines spell it all out, plain as day. Reading between the lines on this one isn't even very difficult. |

In fact, a raw juice diet using vegetable and fruit juices combined with aloe vera gel is practically a miracle cure for early-stage colon cancer. Think of it as a raw juice fast + aloe vera. It's a very powerful cleansing recipe.

Because aloe vera contains many beneficial long-chain polysaccharides, I have often wondered whether blending the gel in a Vita-Mix might cause some of the polysaccharides to be broken. |

We do know from epidemiologic studies that vegetable and fruit consumption is protective against cancer and, from our work, we would suggest that berries be one of those helpings, at least two or three times a week," said Stoner.

Any document in which the FDA openly states its intention to regulate vegetable juice as a drug is clearly and unquestionably a threat to health freedom, regardless of the noise level in the current health freedom debate.
