If you place a small piece of fresh ginger into the thermos flask, drinking this water will quickly stop the nausea. Drinking two to three cups of chamomile tea per day also helps to calm the digestive tract and the nervous system. Chamomile is also a good "stone-breaker" of calcified stones.
Feeling Sick During the Flush
If you have properly followed all the directions given in the outlined procedure, but still feel sick sometime during the actual liver flush, please do not feel alarmed that something is wrong. Although it occurs rarely, a person may vomit or feel nauseated during the night. |

The patient also was given some supplements (fish oil, bromelain) and an emergency pain formula. Over a period of a year, she slowly was weaned off the prednisone until she was drug- and symptom-free, which continues to this day. |

Universal Marinade/Dressing

1 part red or white drinking wine
2 to 5 cloves garlic from a hand press

Program Yourself for Success
Rather than using psychological therapies in an attempt to reduce food intake, our focus is to utilize techniques that promote a positive self-image and high self-esteem. Let's face it, there is tremendous stigma attached to being overweight or obese that causes a lot of psychological trauma. Fashion trends, insurance programs, college placements, and job opportunities all discriminate against the obese or overweight person. |

• There's nothing like a hot drink to soothe one's spirits at almost anytime. However, the choices that have become the social norm (coffee or caffeinated tea) are not soothing to the body - quite the opposite. Why not make this practice truly comforting, by drinking quality herbal teas that are healing and nourishing to the body.
• Add rice, oat or almond milk instead of cream or cow's milk to teas and coffee substitutes. |

Coumadin and Natural Medicine
Conventional doctors will usually forbid the use of Siberian ginseng, vitamin E, and ginger while taking Coumadin because of its ability to lower levels of prothrombin. Coumadin is one of the most dangerous drugs; however, when administered in conjunction with natural medicines, lower doses of Coumadin can be used. By simply adding high levels of vitamin E at levels of3200 E, one would be able to monitor the prothrombin time and adjust or eliminate Coumadin dosages. |

The whole ginger plant, however, has been found to cause liver damage in animals. Those who collect blues music of that period are probably aware of the many references to "the Jake Walk blues. |

The most convenient way to use ginger is to buy the powder in capsules (most contain 500 milligrams) at a health food store. Take two before you board and two more later in the day. If it works, continue this four-a-day dose for the remainder of the cruise. Your pharmacist can also prepare these capsules for you in the same dosage. If you prefer, you can make ginger tea by steeping slices of the fresh root in boiling water or by simply adding a half teaspoon of powdered ginger to a glass of hot water. Don't take the powder dry, however, because it can burn your gullet. |
