By taking a product like Berry Green, which is sold as a powder, you can get these concentrated forms of blueberries, spinach, kale, other cruciferous vegetables, and high-antioxidant fruits into your diet on a regular basis.
Berry Green does have a rather unusual taste. Having powdered spinach blended into a glass of water or soy milk is not most people's idea of a tasty beverage. That's not necessarily mine either. I'm not a big fan of the taste of spinach powder. |

We should get more fruits. We should get avocados, high fiber products, and whole grains. These are the things we should consume if we wish to be healthy.
And to really get your nutrition and be the healthiest you can be, you should eat superfoods. High density, high nutrition supplements based on whole foods or whole food powders. These are products based on spirulina, chlorella, blueberry powder, spinach powder, or kale powder. Broccoli sprouts are fantastic, and they provide high-density nutrition. These are the kinds of things that people should consume if they wish to be healthy. |
The things that promote health, such as raw vegetables and raw fruits. Blanched or cooked vegetables are fine too. I'm just talking about things from nature -- the root vegetables, nuts, seeds, healthy oils, sea vegetables. If you're going to eat meat, it should be organic, free range meat, and only in strictly limited quantities. Free range eggs are good. They’re much better than eggs from the standard imprisoned chickens that we get in the common grocery stores.
We should eat more blueberries and all of these incredibly potent berries. |
In their carts, you'll notice they have lots of fruits and vegetables, lots of raw food ingredients, and you'll see that they tend to buy things in bulk. They'll buy bulk ingredients like brown rice, beans, or legumes. They actually pay attention to what they're buying by reading the ingredients labels, for example.
Contrast this to the everyday grocery shoppers: these are the everyday people who don’t really pay attention to nutrition. They don't make good choices. They basically pull things off the shelves that they've seen on television. |

Particularly when you mentioned apricot seeds – historically, the seeds of fruits have been part of the food chain, and in those areas where a wide variety of foods (natural and raw) are consumed, we see lower levels of disease. That certainly goes with cancer. Those areas that consume foods very rich in vitamin B17 or the nitriloside factor get very little cancer.
Mike: Simple cause and effect, isn't it?
Frank: It certainly looks very simple, and there is a direct correlation.

If you want to be healthy, you have to give up the standard foods available in America, such as processed and manufactured foods, and replace them with natural whole foods such as nuts and whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and then supplement your diet with nutritional supplements and superfoods. If you do that, you're going to have greatly enhanced cardiovascular health, and you're going to have normal cholesterol levels. It's basic cause and effect. This follows the laws of biochemistry: if you eat the right foods, you can't help but to have healthy cholesterol levels. |

Vitamin C intake from fruits clearly showed a powerful protective effect against a variety of diseases.
The other measures of antioxidants, blood levels of alpha and beta-carotene (a vitamin precursor) and alpha and gamma tocopherol (vitamin E) are poor indicators of the effects of antioxidants. These antioxidants are transported in the blood by lipoprotein, which is the carrier of "bad" cholesterol. So anytime we measured these antioxidants, we were simultaneously measuring unhealthy biomarkers. |

There are health benefits from eating eight to twelve servings of fruits and vegetables each day. When you study the medical literature, you understand, without a doubt, that patients who take a complete balance of optimal levels of high-quality nutritional supplements have a health benefit over those who don’t.
So I don’t look at it as treating a disease. I look at it as a health benefit that improves their health. So we are just building up the body’s natural immune system -- the natural repair system, or what is referred to as the antioxidant defense system. |

You have all the superfoods, like the great vegetables and fruits. Your immune system is going to be able to knock it off. You're not going to get hit with it. It won't be able to hold onto you. Being prepared like that will literally save your life. Now, how much is it going to cost to have that tucked away in your herb cabinet? I'd say a maximum of $200.
Mike: Even if the bird flu doesn't hit this year, you can save those herbs for next year.
Wolfe: Exactly, even five years or 10 years.
Mike: That's right. It's easy insurance. You talk about insurance in some of your public presentations. |

Mangoes come in more than a thousand varieties and vary in form from round to kidney-shaped, ranging from diminutive plum-sized to melon-sized fruits weighing up to 4 pounds. Most commercially grown varieties are about the size and shape of a large avocado: 4 to 5 inches in length and about 8 ounces in weight. One exception is the Manila mango, a pear-sized, golden yellow variety now beginning to appear in U.S. markets.
The mango tree is a magnificent evergreen that grows up to 100 feet tall and produces beautiful, shiny, thick, pointed leaves 8 to 14 inches long. |
Among these eight fruits:
• Nectarines had the highest percentage of samples test positive for pesticides (97.3 percent), followed by pears (94.4 percent) and peaches (93.7 percent).
• Nectarines also had the highest likelihood of multiple pesticides on a single sample— 85.3 percent had two or more pesticide residues—followed by peaches (79.9 percent) and cherries (75.8 percent).
• Peaches and raspberries had the most pesticides detected on a single sample with nine pesticides on a single sample, followed by strawberries and apples, where eight pesticides were found on a single sample. |
The result was an overconsump-tion of animal products, dietary fat, and refined carbohydrates and insufficient consumption of fiber-rich foods such as fruits, vegetables, and

That’s why I believe it is time for growers of cherries, fruits, vegetables and other healing foods to take a stand against the FDA. Stand firm against oppression and censorship, and stand up for your right to tell the truth about the healing benefits of your natural products. The FDA’s reclassification of cherry growers as criminals is a violation of every system of law and ethics that we’ve known on this planet. |

He never answered (I since found out it was the supplement companies he represented), but he did say that most people will not eat fruits and vegetables, and that 4-10 percent was better than nothing!
Look at how many supplements and health-related products are out there, yet our health is getting worse, and we continue to be impressed when companies produce an article showing research that backs their products. Ninety to 96 percent of your hard-earned money is being urinated into the toilet and flushed away when you take vitamin supplements! |

Every seed is imbued with qualities of life, and when you eat raw fruits, vegetables or nuts, you ingest more than just their chemical constituents. You also ingest the homeopathy of plants, or what I also call vibrational nutrition.
I very much doubt that food fabrication is going to be able to duplicate this energetic component of foods. |
Human beings evolved in a natural environment in which they had access to fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, grasses and animals. These were all available free of charge as long as a person was willing to expend the effort and time necessary to gather such items. Nature offered them freely. Nature didn't charge you for creating vitamins and minerals. The plants and soils provided these on their own, naturally.
Plants create seeds naturally, and these seeds are freely available to humans, birds, insects and any other creature that wants to use those seeds. This is the natural order of things. |

Foods provided by nature -- raw, uncooked and unprocessed berries, nuts, seeds, vegetables, roots, fruits and so on. This is what was available to the body, so it only makes sense that raw foods offer perfect compatibility with the human body. That's one reason people might choose to eat raw foods, but it's not the only reason.
You might also decide to pursue a raw foods diet because of the taste experience. Even if you don't care about health benefits, the taste experience is incredible. A raw foods diet is not about eating salads, carrots and celery sticks all day long. |

There is some danger with potassium excess, especially with diabetes and kidney disease. If someone is receiving a high potassium supplementation, kidney function should be periodically evaluated. Potassium is also alkalinizing.
Good food sources of potassium are prunes, tomatoes, artichoke, spinach, sunflower seeds, and almonds. |

We've got to have everything present and that's going to include all those foods that we mentioned: fruits and vegetables, organic nuts, seeds and seaweed. I also recommend sprouts if you're into grasses.
We're really into distributing superfoods, which are things like spirulina and blue-green algae, and chlorella and bee products, like pollen and honey, maca from the highlands of the Andes Mountains and goji berries, the cacao bean -- which is the chocolate -- which is what all chocolate is made out of. These foods are extraordinarily nutritious and very fun to eat. |

Other Dietary Factors
Eating whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and legumes may help protect against heart disease. The apparent protective effect of nuts,7,8 which are high in fat, may be due to their essential-fatty-acid content.
In addition to the items discussed above, a number of other components of our diet may promote or contribute to atherosclerosis. First, research on caffeine is conflicting, although some evidence shows that it can promote atherosclerosis. |

By extension, it is logical to assume that eating fruits and vegetables will protect against dementia caused by poor vascular health. Research again seems to prove the point. Scientists conducted mental health exams and assessed food intake for over 5,000 older people and monitored their health for over two years. They found that the people who consumed the most total fat and saturated fat had the highest risk of dementia due to vascular problems. |
But fortunately for us, free radical damage can be repressed thanks to the antioxidants in vegetables and fruits.
Two studies, each involving a team of experienced researchers at prestigious institutions, provide compelling evidence that food can protect against macular degeneration. Both studies were published a decade ago. One evaluated diet41 and the other assessed nutrients in blood.42 The findings of these two studies suggested that as much as 70-88% of blindness caused by macular degeneration could be prevented if the right foods are eaten. |

But unprocessed, unrefined, wholesome fruits and vegetables right out of the garden cannot be marketed with any health claims whatsoever without running the risk of an FDA lawsuit.
And that, friends, is the current state of food politics in the United States: Foods that harm consumers are marketed with FDA-approved health claims, while foods that prevent disease are have their health benefits silenced by the FDA. Thank goodness we still have Freedom of Speech, or it would be illegal for me to even report this. |

Dr. Haas: No. I believe that people need to be able to continue living their own lives -- going to work, exercising and being around their families -- so they can continue living healthy lives after I am gone.

Most of us should be focusing on vegetables, fruits, some appropriate proteins and grains, beans and seeds.
The dairy connection
Mike: I noticed dairy is not one of the items in SNACC, but for many people, dairy is associated with a lot of stagnation.
Dr. Haas: A lot of people are reactive to dairy. When you look at the purification process, the first level is dealing with the substances, the SNACC. The second level is dealing with foods that we may we overdo, and the top three that can cause great problems -- the "big three" I call them -- are wheat, dairy products and sugar. |

• Kidney stones can be prevented by a healthy diet.
• Type 1 diabetes, one of the most devastating diseases that can befall a child, is convincingly linked to infant feeding practices.
These findings demonstrate that a good diet is the most powerful weapon we have against disease and sickness. |

You won't find bananas or watermelons eaten here, for example, but you will find nourishing fruits and low-glycemic sweeteners like yacon syrup, agave nectar or stevia herb used in moderation. This is what the world needs in terms of food that will protect against diabetes and that will, over time, help boost insulin sensitivity, which is the beginning of a biochemical reversal of the root causes of diabetes. |
